Opie is a 4 yr old full blooded rottweiler. We do not have his papers as I was not using him for breeding or show, just a family member. He is crate trained, housebroken, knows basic commands, good with other dogs, cats and children, but his size would not be good for very young children, as he has no sense of personal space and could knock them down. He has never shown aggression toward any person or other animal. He walks well on a leash for me but, not so much for others.
My daughter and grand baby have moved in and our space is shrinking, so Opie has to spend too much time isolated in kitchen and family room, which is not fair to him. He is kept separate from 1 year old due to his size, no other reason. He is a good boy that deserves to be with his people, not watching from the other side of the gate.
Opie has been part of our family since he was 5 months old and will not go to just anyone. I want him to be loved and treated as a family member. He has never spent a night outside or has never been tied up. He would like a fenced in yard to play as that is what he is used to. He has been know to chew up a pair of my jeans (he prefers that to chewing my shoes) but is not destructive. He seems to have a taste for Petunias also as mine end up as his salad rather than looking all pretty like I intend. He loves the snow, but not high heat and humidity and he is used to central air. He is crated when we aren't going to be home for the day and his crate will come with him.
I am looking for a special person for him, he has a joyful spirit and a huge capacity to love. He deserves the best. Please do not be offended if you are not picked. There are so many aps to go through and letting him go is hurting deeply. If you think you may be the right home for Opie please fill out the application below.
