Meet Booger! Booger came to the rescue previously named Andorra, she may respond to that name but now also understands "Boogie."
When Booger was first brought to us she was in terrible condition. She had not only been suffering from bloody loose stools for at least 5 years prior, she had one of the worst upper respiratory infections we've seen. With a little TLC that was all resolved, but in the process she was diagnosed with asthma. Her asthma has been completely regulated and she responded well to the steroid prednisolone. she has a rescue inhaler should she ever need it, a new owner would just need to purchase the appropriate inhaler chamber.
After all her breathing and respiratory issues were handled we assessed her intestinal issue. Booger had extensive blood work done to check all her levels and they all came back great! However, she was still losing weight, and not keeping much down. We decided to do an abdominal ultrasound on her and it came back that she most certainly has Irritable Bowel Disease. Luckily that's something that's easily managed! We quickly put her on Purina Pro Plan EN Gastroenteric food and saw an immediate improvement! She no longer has loose stools and can keep her food down regularly. For any future flare ups, it's treated with prednisolone that our vet gave for us to keep on hand for when necessary.
Throughout all of her ups and downs, Booger has remained nothing but the sweetest girl. As soon as she regained her strength her personality immediately came out! She is super talkative and snuggly. If you're in the room Booger is surely following you around or watching every move you make just to see what's up. Booger LOVES her wet food. It has to be mixed with water for whatever reason, but she goes crazy for it. After she's gotten some pets and a good snack, Booger spends most of her day lounging around on a cat tower, looking out a window and bird watching. You can also find her curled up on any blanket or heating pad for extra comfy moments.
Booger's hobbies include: chasing around her fluffy white ball, yelling for attention, and eating cat grass.
