Hi,  My name is Ben and I am a young mastiff mix looking for a home. I just got out of the pound and am now in a nice foster home. Boy is this better! I have people and other dogs to play with and I just know I will find my new forever home now that I have come to the rescue. Please fill out the application below if you are interested in me and someone will get back to you shortly. Love Ben

Update:  Ben has settled in really well in his foster home.  He has been out to adoption events and enjoys the attention from people of all shapes and sizes - even the little ones.  Everyone seems to love his laid back personality, and especially his beautiful, thick, brindle coat.  It's not super short like a Mastiff's, and it's hard to resist running your fingers through it if Ben is standing by.  He really is a magnificent boy!

His foster mom is working with him on a few things.  Because he was half-starving when he arrived at the pound, he still can be protective of his food with other dogs, though his person can take away the dish while he's eating wtih no problem.  He also is still learning that not all things are good and edible and to be a bit more discriminating about what he chooses to eat.  Despite his size, he is, afterall, still very much a puppy and is just getting a bit of a late start on some of these lessons.  Ben would probably do better in a home with kids 12 and older, not that he doesn't like young ones, but he is likely to chew/swallow stuffed animals and small toys.
