Here is what Cindy has shared with us about Goon:

Goon has had an evaluation completed by a MUGS, Inc. Volunteer. You can read his evaluation below. Goon is a young male Cane Corso with a shiny brindle coat. Currently underweight, Goon will require a growth ration for a while until he is fully grown and filled out. Goon requires a stable, excellent, and safe forever owner.

Evaluation Completed on Saturday September 8th, 2012:
"Goon" seems like a very sweet dog.  It broke my heart to see him so skinny, and with his bones showing.  I think he still has a long way to go and a lot of weight to gain back as his paws and head are much bigger proportionately than his chest and stomach are.  According to those at the facility, he has already gained a good amount of weight and looks much better than he did when he first came in.  I think that at some point in his life he was loved and taken care of.  He seems pretty disciplined, knows how to sit and lay down, and he does have his tail docked as well which I think is somewhat costly to do.  He is heartworm negative, and up to date on rabies, bordatella, etc. as of 8/27/12.  He was growling and barking some while in his cage, but I attributed this more to him wanting everyone's attention who was there.  There were two other gentleman looking at dogs while I was there, and while they were at his cage, he was not growling or barking at all.  When they started paying attention to dogs in other cages, he seemed to get a little jealous.  However, the whole time he was wagging his tail and it never appeared to me like he angry or vicious.  I was putting my fingers through the case to pet him and to let him lick me, and he was allowing it, was never aggressive while I was doing it, and he never even mouthed my fingers or nipped me at all.

They brought Goon and myself into a side room so I could get to know him better, and he really seems to have a wonderful personality.  He loved having behind his ears scratched, and he also liked leaning into me and trying to sit in my  lap while I was sitting on the couch.  He really seemed like a sweetheart.  He was very inquisitive and wanted to know everything that was happening outside the door.  It was pretty cute seeing him cock his head to the side while trying to figure out what the noises he heard were.  He never mouthed my hand or arm while we were together, nor did he ever growl or bark.  He was extremely friendly, and he listened very well.  Even when I was not offering him any treats, he still sat and layed down and gave me his full attention when I asked him to.  One of the workers there was speaking with me for a while and said how much he liked Goon, especially in comparison to other Cane Corsos, and large breed dogs that they have had at the facility.  He told me several times that he wish he could take Goon home, but that his home situation would not allow for it.  He said Goon was a little skiddish at first when he first came into the facility, but within a day or two he got over it.  He did not seem jumpy or skiddish to me at all.  Several times I approached him from behind to pet him, and he never jumped or showed any signs of being nervous or leery.  He seemed very comfortable, even when it was just him and I in the room without his handler.  I was with him for 45 minutes or so, and during my time there, I never saw any signs of aggression or being undisciplined.  His handler mentioned that he also feels he is house broken as he has had very few pee accidents since coming in, and no poop accidents in his kennel.  During my time with him, he really came across as a loving dog who just wants someone to treat him well, give him a lot of attention, and love him.  He certainly seems to crave attention and affection.  Although I am not a dog expert, I have seen a good deal of aggressive large breed dogs and sweet large breed dogs, and I really feel that he falls in line with the sweet large breed dogs.  He is a good boy....and he loves his treats (he also took treats from me very carefully and slowly as it seemed he did not want to get my finger in his mouth at all...he certainly didn't grab it from me quickly but instead was pretty "gentle" with it)!
