Bea now has an adoption pending, though she's not expected to be going to her new home until some time in February. If you would still like to submit an application for her for consideration only if her current adoption should unexpectedly fall through, please feel encouraged to do so.
Beatrix came to our rescue directly from the emergency vet who was caring for her after she was attacked by a large dog at the pound. She had many stitches from deep puncture wounds, bruising and several rib fractures. We don't know what her life was like before that tremendous trauma, but as you can see in her video, she has been through a very rough time.
Our Sweet Bea will need a special home with someone who will be mindful of what she's been through - someone who will let her live in comfort and be loved unconditionally from here on out. She has come so far and is finally starting to act like a real dog. She is learning how to give kisses and show affection and enjoy being petted and spoiled! All of these things seem like new experiences for her, and watching her slowly blossom has been so rewarding!
Bea is OK with other calm dogs who respect her space. Understandably, she does not like a lot of noise and chaos, and so will not do well in a home with young children.
Though she absolutely needs someone to be gentle with her, she is not hard to have around. She rarely barks. She is housebroken, and she is also fine in a crate, though she is usually free in the house unless being left alone for a long period of time. Our vet estimates her to be 6-7 yrs old.
Might you be the one to give our Queen Bea a forever home, and treat her like royalty for the rest of her days?
