TED: Up For Adoption (Not Ready For Placement)
He is a 1 year old, Male-not neutered, (will be neutered prior to being placed)black and tan, GSD.
Ted is heart worm positive. Looking for a foster to adopt situation to get him through his treatment
Ted is a sweet, funny, very smart and HANDSOME guy that wants a strong leader he can bond very strongly to. He came from a horrible situation... He is very underweight! He was also crated most of the day, in a crate that should have been used for a young puppy. He couldn't even stand up in it... He was not exercised at all and the other dogs in the home, beat him up pretty bad. He has scars all over from the altercations he's been in. Being continuously chased and bit at, has created some dog reactive issues that we are working on with Ted. He is doing well, but he will need continued training and socialization after he is adopted. He is a project boy.
And now Ted has tested positive for heart worm. Treatment will begin soon, looking for someone that would consider fostering to adopt and helping Ted through his treatment.
He is a medium-high energy guy that has a TON of stamina. He needs to be placed in a single person home or with a couple with no children in the home. He's actually good with kids, but he needs a lot of one on one training and attention, so we'd like a home with no kids to make sure he gets what he needs from now on!
We are looking for a very active person or couple, that hikes or bikes often. If you aren't VERY active, please do not inquire about Ted!!
He needs a firm but fair person (s),that can give a balance of discipline and positive reinforcement. Someone who is patient but consistent.
We'd like no other dogs in the home, unless they are calm, polite and social.
Teds Adoption Fee is $250
