Hi! My name is Jack although I get called Jackalope a lot because I love to jump around and run like an antelope. I’m a one-year old pup who is equally as cute as I am energetic. So, I definitely need someone who will help me release my energy, be it through frisbee chasing, running, long walks or playing tug-o-war! I’m also very smart, and know how to sit, lay, wait and give paw. However, I am fearful of new people. I bark and try to act all tough because of my fear, and I need someone who will actively work with me on feeling safer around people and also who is willing to wait for me to warm up to new folks and not force it. The up side is when I do know people, I am always asking for pets, play or snuggles. I won’t leave your side once I know you, and I will snuggle you at night to make sure you don’t forget.

While at my foster home, I have played with three other puppies, and it has been a blast. I do have a problem with nipping at heels when playing though, but the other pups let me know to stop. The cats here like to tease me as they know I want to play with them but they sit high up so I just watch them. I try to herd the chickens here, and the rooster isn’t a big fan of my help. I’m not too fond of hoses or pools, but I may grow to like them. I am okay with baths but still unsure of nail trims and being brushed. I love car rides, and looking out the windshield or window at where we are going. I also have been around walkers and prosthetic legs, and they don’t phase me one bit.
