This is Cosmo, (Cozzie)  (a 2 year old Great Pyrenees) a sweet boy that is finding out life can be good. He was expected to be a guard dog & shot twice by owner, because he was not doing a good job. This boy was rescued by a relative from the owner in Kentucky & relocated to Ohio. Blind in one eye ,hearing loss,  damaged paw, found to be Heart Worm positive (from mosquitoes), Lyme Disease positive (from ticks) & to have Anaplasmosis (from ticks). He has finished going thru treatments for these diseases. He is a happy boy, a forgiving boy, a big fluffy lovebug.. The awful treatment by owners, has not damaged him. After the treatments he's gone through in the past 3-6 months, he should have a normal life with many years left. Cosmo is a loving boy, that still wants to play with the other dogs and cats in his foster home, and herd the chickens back into "their side of the yard". .He is looking for a special adopter to get him through the mental trauma he still has from the abuse he suffered. He needs kept calm and leash walked. Having access to Rootstown vet in Ravenna, will be necessary for periodic visits as he will be neutered and his front leg amputated if deemed needed. He has been getting around fine without using it for the last year. You can't keep a good dog down! He will be a wonderful companion to a lucky adopter. He is good with dogs, cats and chickens and older respectable teens and adults.. He is calm house boy, that can use a walk or 2 a day and a "job" to do. We will include meeting with the trainer who is well aware of Cosmo mental and training needs.  Only  very special adopters will be considered..
