Hi!
My name is Sneakers, Sneaks for short, and I came to the rescue as a stray cat from Akron. Thankfully I got rescued off the cold streets just in time! In my indoor life I've found that I mostly love just napping around and getting any attention I can get. I would make an excellent lap cat. My favorite thing to do is chase my foster mom around until she gives me attention or wet food, either will work. When I'm not seeking out attention or food, I'm pretty easy going. I love my people that's for sure. Every time my foster mom walks in the room I get very excited to see her and walk up to her meowing for some pets. I even stand on my back two feet and make biscuits in the air while I'm getting my head scratched because I love it so much. Right now I have a cat i share my space with, and that's okay! Although I don't buddy up to the other cat and make friends, I coexist with them well and we can all live happily in the same space. My favorite time of day is feeding time. I follow my foster mom all around meowing until she graces me with a delicious plate of Fancy Feast wet food. I eat dry food like a normal cat, but wet food REALLY makes me happy. If you think we would make a good match feel free to submit an application and my foster mom will be in touch with you!
Sneakers has gingivitis. This simply means inflammation of the mouth. When we took Sneakers in we noticed she had some pretty stinky breath and that she was missing some bottom front teeth. Upon her examination it was determined that her gums were really swollen essentially equating to gingivitis. It is not recommended that Sneakers get any teeth pulled right now or even have a dental cleaning as her teeth are in relatively good shape with minimal tartar. Her gingivitis can be managed a few different ways, and fortunately the easiest way seems to work for her. We add some lysine powder to her food every day and that helps keep inflammation down. Super easy. Another vet had recommended that she be treated with a steroid injection and antibiotic to get rid of the inflammation and it worked! So if you adopted Sneakers and had any issues with her gums getting inflamed, both of these solutions would be easy fixes to your problem.
