Hi! My name is Anders. I’m a one-year-old Norwegian elkhound mix. I wanted to tell you about how much I like life and how much I would love you, but got sidetracked exploring which I also really like to do. Thus asked my foster Mom to finish. She is always telling me what a good boy I am, so guessing it will be better coming from her anyhow . . .
So foster Mom Donna here. Named this amazing boy Anders, Norwegian for “brave,” since he displayed such courage around all the big, loud dogs at the pound and with jumping right in the car as we exited. He is only 40 pounds but he is truly fearless. He is also extraordinarily snuggly. He instantly loves everyone and enjoys giving them hugs. The sweetest, most gentle hugs ever. He likes playing with my lab rescue Hunter but another dog is not necessary. A human who wants companionship and lots of affection, however, is absolutely required. Despite having success with him off leash in the back fields, I listed fenced yard or invisible fence as required also as he likes to run!
He has lots of energy but is able to tone it down when inside and enjoys just laying nearby as I work. He is clever and has learned sit, down, and come. He is motivated by praise more than treats. He has showed no food or toy aggression. He cooperates when a bath or crate is needed. So just an all around easy, good boy who will make someone a loving and loyal companion.
