An adoption is in the works for Prince!!
My name is Prince and I probably had a great life at one time, but somehow I ended up on my own in a place called Youngstown. Since I can’t see well, and I can’t hear, I had a hard time fending for myself and got REALLY skinny. The pound people saved my life by finding me and taking me to their place. Rose’s Rescue took me in from there and got me everything I needed, including a swell haircut, not to mention good food in my belly every day! Now I’m ready to find someone to look after me and spoil me from here on out. I just need help with a few things, but I still get around pretty well and don’t think I’d be too much trouble. What do you think? Could you help out an old guy like me and give me a great life for the rest of my senior years?
Are you a born caregiver? You are the perfect parent for our sweet Prince! While he is not a hospice case per se, he is an old guy with special needs and could be considered to be one He’s doing fine and has excellent quality of life now, but know he isn’t a dog that will be around for years and years.
Prince was picked up in Youngstown in deplorable condition. He was extremely emaciated, and eyes completely matted. His eyes were saved, but he has very poor vision - he’s extremely near-sighted, but sees well enough that he gets around just fine. We also discovered that he is deaf and has very few teeth. He’s been to the brink and back, but this little guy is like the energizer bunny - he just keeps on going!
Prince is in pretty good shape for the shape he’s in, as they say He’s got a great appetite, lets you know when he wants you, and just loves to be loved on. He needs picked up to go outside and back in, unless you don’t have any steps. He also will want picked up and put on the couch or chair next to you so he can snuggle and get petted. He gets moderately-priced eye meds several times a day - drops and an ointment, which he’s very good about getting. It might sound like a lot, but it’s not really - just eye meds and a “ride’ outside to do his business. He’s remarkably self-sufficient otherwise!
