Lily is quite the character. She seems to be a bit of a Diva and usually wants things her own way. If there is one pup that is off on her own and doing her own thing, it is usually Lily. She has the softest and most luxurious coat ever. Our Lily is just plain irresistible and is glad to accommodate anyone picking her up and cuddling her close. She will usually reward you with a puppy kiss or two for your efforts!
Mia’s puppies are very much a mixed lot and so far remain a mystery as to what the rest of their heritage is and what they will look like (including how big) when they grow up. Mia is about 30 lbs, and has many of the features of a Dachshund, such as a long body, relatively short legs and a narrow muzzle. None of the puppies resemble her, except that Corbin shares her coloring. Many of them don’t look like each other either. Therefore, the breed designations listed on each of these profiles is simply a wild guess. They may be bigger than medium-sized; they may or may not have any of the breed in them that we are choosing to call them. They have their foster mom stumped as to what their daddy (or daddies) might have been, but one thing is for sure – they are certainly very cute! They were born on February 6, and should be ready to go the third weekend in March.
Please remember that puppies this young will need you now more than ever because this is the age when they begin to understand structure and routine. It is recommended that they not go to a home where an owner is at work - or not present - for up to 8 - 9 hours each day. The longest they can be left alone is for 3 or 4 hours at a time during the first month or so after being adopted, and even that is a long time during the few weeks after being weaned. Besides the fact that their bodies are not developed enough to “hold it” when they are this young, leaving them crated or unattended for hours on end will not offer them the love, attention, socialization, exercise, or training that they will need to become the adult dogs you want them to be for their lifetime - and your lifetime too. After all, count on 15 years of togetherness and anything over that is a bonus!
