Iris is about 14 - 16 months old. She is a beagle, possibly whippet mix. She came to us from the pound where she was brought after being hit by a car. She had surgery to repair her hip & is slowly regaining use of her right rear leg. She is spayed & UTD on vax. She is currently in foster with me while she recuperates. She is a pretty quiet dog. She barks at dogs she sees outside & our neighborhood groundhogs. She currently lives with 2 cats & does fine with them. She tries to get them to play. They only hiss at her. She doesn't chase them. She loves to take stuffies apart, removing legs mostly. And noses. She likes to play ball & tosses her toys up in the air. She is an easy walker, but does not like to go out in rain or snow. She potties on newspapers when she does not want to go out. She loves to sit in the recliner or on the couch with you. She is a real couch potato, laid back, calm. She would do well in just about any home. She is OK in the car, but does not to be near one if it is running. She loves to have her ears scratched & her belly rubbed. Anyone interested in meeting Iris can set up an appointment with me so I can bring her up to the shelter. She weighs about 22 pounds, is taller than a beagle, but lean like a whippet.
