Meet sweet little Ziggy, who is just cute a a button. Found by the dump on a small Caribbean island, he was so happy to see the kind soul who took him in and got him set up with the Animal Welfare Group. He is a really happy little guy, only weighing 11 pounds at about 4 months old, who just loves everyone he meets! He loves playing with other dogs and his foster mom, but is equally happy to just hang out or curl up and take a nap. He will probably grow a little, but should stay under 20# when full grown.
Island Dogs have a tougher life than you may think, facing daily risks from other dogs, cars and poisoning. The Animal Welfare does a great job, but finding adopters on a small, less populated island is always a challenge, which is why they work with rescue groups in the states to reach out to more people. Rose's Rescue has been working with the Animal Welfare for over 5 years and has successfully brought over a dozen dogs from the island to their forever homes. Island Dogs have unparallelled loyalty after bonding with their new family, making great family pets! Please consider bringing Ziggy into your home for the holidays!
