I am a big boy who showed up at a volunteer's house this summer. I was very shy and timid at first, but once I got to know them I am very friendly and affectionate, even coming when they called me. I liked to hang out with the neighbor's children and get pets, hugs and belly rubs from them. I was already neutered and wanted to come inside, so they think I was abandoned by my previous owner. Their cat didn't like the idea of me being inside, so I have been outside until recently.
I am now at a foster home and doing well inside, I haven't even tried to get outside. I hissed and hid at first, but am not doing that any more. I am using the litter box and I haven't tried to climb or scratch anything. I don't like being picked up and carried around, but I will sit next to you or climb on your lap to be petted. I love my head/chin being scratched and will roll over when my belly is rubbed, which I like a lot. I am vocal at times, but not too much. I don't like the diva girl kitties at the foster home, but am tolerant of the easy going, laid back boys. I hiss at them but I have not been aggressive. They walk away and don't hiss back or react to me so I guess I'm okay with them. I will need a little time to adjust to a new home, but once I get settled in I will be a loving and affectionate companion. I would be fine being an only pet or with one other easy going dog or cat.
