Bingo
Just wanted to send an update about our sweet Barney who was adopted from you in 2011. He was named Bingo and was a cell dog. Our other dog, Bella, died in Dec. 2016. They were best friends but she never would play with him. Our house was too quiet and Barney was sad so we started our search for another sweet dog to adopt and we found Daisy, we call her crazy Daisy. She plays with him and he has such patience with her considering he is around 13 and she is 3. Well here is a photo of him after a morning of
playing. Just wanted to thank you for taking care of Barney before we were able to bring him to our home. We love him and he brings such joy to our lives. Here is a photo of them relaxing on there favorite chair. Thank you for all you do.
Buzz
I hope you are well and ready to enjoy the holiday. I thought you would appreciate an update about Buzzy. He is doing really well. He has turned into a very happy dog who is alert, wags his tail constantly, and excitedly turns in circles! He is so sweet and loving and so gentle with everyone. He has fully charmed our neighbor who has a fenced in backyard. Buzzy is allowed to come and play in her yard whenever he wants. She also rewards him with bologna so he loves that too. He also is good buddies with the dogs who live next door to us. He is getting better with car rides. He doesn't seem to know how to jump up so we still have to lift him into the car. But, he is excited to go. This has been a great development because we enjoy going to parks and we are happy we can take our dog with us. He is still hoarding and collecting his toys, the cats' toys, shoes, socks, and whatever he can get is paws on. He doesn't destroy anything nor does he get territorial so we decided this isn't a big deal. He and the cats are best friends, especially our boy cat. They are always together. He allows our boy cat to eat from his bowl (we try to stop this but that cat is fast and sneaky!) and both cats rub all over him and sometimes groom him.
He still will not freely walk into our house. This is a source of frustration. After a walk or trip outside, he will just stand by the door. Of course, we got into the practice of encouraging him to come in for a treat. That works somewhat but it still takes him time to come in. He doesn't seem scared anymore, he just won't come in. We have been using our neighbor's dog to try to train him but it really isn't working. I think this is going to be one of those things that just takes him a long time and lots of patience on our part. Otherwise, he is much less fearful and much more confident than when we first got him.
Finally, I thought you would really enjoy this. We purchased one of those canine DNA tests. We found out he is Norwegian Elk Hound, Labrador Retriever, Golden Retriever, and Pomeranian! A certified mutt.
We love him so much. He makes our hearts melt daily and we can't believe our luck!
