Twiggy

Twiggy is getting along very well. She is acting very happy. She slept with me all night last night. Now she is taking a nap with Karen. We have a huge yard that she loves walking around in. On her leash of course. The cats are afraid of her but they are starting to come out of hiding. She acts like they dont exist which is great. This is making it easier for them to adjust. She was a little fiesty on the way home so we put her in the crate and she settled down after she weeped a little. She misses you but wanted to thank you for sending her home with us that just love her.She is being such a good girl. We just adore her. She goes any where she wants exploring allover. We have her bed and her crate and toys in the living Room. She is taking the cats toys also. She is going in and out from under her covers all the time.We will keep you up to date and send pictures when we get some. Please dont worry we will give her a very happy home. Get back to you soon. Darlene & Karen

Thrifty

We adopted Sonny (previously known as "Thrifty"....because he was found by one of the Rose's Rescue volunteers wandering the aisles of a local thrift store!) on October 23, 2014. We had also added a pit bull from the APL named Maddie to our home the past July. She had been abused and was fearful of nearly everything...except other dogs. We knew that finding a friend for her would help her overcome her anxieties....but we never realized how fast that would happen until we brought Sonny into our home. After working through Evie...who was Thirfty's foster Mom and a JOY to talk to...we finalized the adoption and Sonny came home with us on a beautiful fall day. We had already had him meet Maddie and they seemed to get along well. As he settled into our home...the two dogs went from getting along well...to being nearly inseparable and playing all day, every day. They are the best of friends. And...just as we thought...Sonny really helped Maddie overcome her fear of life in general and men in particular -- namely my husband. Although he treated her with the utmost love and gentleness...she still would not let him pet her or come very near...even after three months in our home...until Sonny helped lead the way. Sonny is a joy....a goofy, sociable lab/hound mix...who greets each day with a constantly wagging tail and a love for all people he meets. Thank you Rose's Rescue for all that you do. You are literally lifesavers in every way!
